I’m excited to be back talk about all things bulletin boards!
I secretly wish I could retire as a teacher and decorate classrooms/bulletin boards for a living! I find that setting up a classroom and decorating it, is one of the best parts of going back to school. Am I alone here?!
I’m lucky enough to have TONS of wall space to create bulletin boards. I know this isn’t always the case for teachers, so today I have a few tips for you if you are limited in wall space.
I use my walls for all kinds of bulletin boards…birthday boards, social studies, ELA, etc. See below for ideas on creating your own, and please ignore the piles of paper (BTS purging going on in my room).
Tip #1: One thing I love doing is doubling up on borders to create a layered look!
Tip #2: And sometimes I run out of space, so I use my door! We don’t fear the fire marshall at my school. This one was even loved and shared by the QUEEN of bulletin boards, Melanie from School Girl Style!
Tip #3: So maybe you don’t have tons of wall space, or you aren’t able to use your door for bulletin boards…what about cabinets?
I absolutely LOVED this interactive door idea on Farley’s blog! I just knew I HAD to make one too. It saves space for student work samples because at the end of the week, I can roll down a new work space really easily. You can click on each picture to learn more about how I use these in my classroom.
So there you have it! You can use walls, doors, and even cabinets for your bulletin board space.
Love, love, love the interactive door idea! Your boards are so pretty! Thanks for sharing.

I would love to be a classroom decorator!!! I always look forward to it during the summer :-) The colors in your room are gorgeous!! I use that teal and yellow already and I’m loving your pops of hot pink!! I’d love to tour your classroom in person!!
OMG that tree!! How gorgeous! All of your colors are so bright and cheerful and the pennant banners give them such an adorable look. Thanks for sharing that tutorial from Farley again, I remembered seeing it and then forgot to save it. Awesome!
