When my friends over at Cricut asked to partner up with me for some fun DIY crafting projects, I couldn’t say no! I enjoy crafting and creating projects for my classroom and my own home, but hadn’t used a Cricut machine before. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed! I absolutely loved using their Cricut machines for this project!
This weekend, I created the most darling coasters I could see myself giving them to parent volunteers for end-of-the-year gifts or even my teammates. They were really easy to make and I was surprised how incredible they turned out!
Here’s what you’ll need to complete this project:
Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore cutting machine
StandardGrip Machine Mat – 12″ x 12″
Coaster Blanks, Round (2 Sets)
Infusible Ink™ Transfer Sheets
Butcher Paper
White Cardstock
Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Place the Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet down on the mat (shiny side down).
2. In Design Space, select and size your design to fit on your coaster blank. Be sure to mirror your design.
3. Select Browse all materials, then Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet.
4. Load mat and blade into machine, then press flashing Go button.
5. Remove cut design from mat and trim away unused area of sheet. Use your fingers to carefully remove the negative pieces from in and around your design, leaving design on liner.
6. Cover the EasyPress Mat with cardstock to protect it from unwanted transfer. Set the Cricut EasyPress at 400°F (205°C) for 240 seconds on top of the coaster.
7. When beep sounds, slowly lift press. Try not to move the stack, including butcher paper.
8. Your coaster will be HOT! Let it cool completely, then slowly remove the butcher paper and liner.
And that’s it! I can’t wait to share more DIY projects with you all! Tag me @sailingintosecond on Instagram when you create your own!
