With schools closing all over Southern California (and across the world), I wanted to share with you some great educational websites and tools you can send home with your students. This way, you can set up distance learning for your class (if possible). I know that this is not a complete replacement for learning in schools, and that some student populations won’t have access to digital devices, but this is something you can share with those who can use it. :)
Below is a list of FREE educational resources and tools for you to use with your students:
- Breakout EDU Digital Learning Games
- BrainPoP Learning Videos and Lessons
- CommonLit Reading Passages and Literacy Resources
- Epic! Digital Library for Students
- Google Hangouts Meet Virtual Lesson Platform
- Khan Academy Online Courses and Lessons
- Loom Video Video Recording Platform
- Mystery Science Science Lessons for Students
- Prodigy Math Practice Games
- Science4Us Printables and Hands-On Science Activities for Students
- Scholastic Tons of Free Activities for Students
- VidCode Hour of Code Activities
- Vooks Animated Books for Kids
One awesome teacher tip!! Google Hangouts Meet is also free to anyone who uses G Suite. You can have 200+ people on a Hangouts call, so that you can lead a virtual classroom lesson or classroom discussion. You can even record the session and save them to your Google Drive. That way students and families will able to access the content at a later time if needed.
And if your students won’t be able to have any access to devices, below I’ve linked some good old paper/pencil activities they can use with some reading books of their choice.
Just click on the link below (or image above) to access the resources and have them sent to your inbox. :)
I hope you all stay healthy, safe, and that these ideas and tips helped even a little bit!

A while ago I saw a sheet on finding area and perimeter with cheez-it’s. Love it. Was wondering if you had an answer key.
